About Prints
Print Materials
The prints offered here are made with Epson Ultrachrome inks on Epson Archival Matte paper.
With reasonable care, the expected lifespan, without fading or discolouration, is in excess of 50 years.
Mounted prints are supplied ready to frame, in a mount and backboard of archival materials.
Most mounted prints will fit standard size frames, even if the print itself is non standard.
(Panorama format would require custom framing)
Prints can be supplied framed, in which case acrylic glazing is used for safer posting.
Prints are signed in the bottom right margin.
Framed or mounted prints are also signed in the bottom right corner of the mount.
Caring for prints
The lifespan of prints can be enhanced by careful treatment – using the same precautions that apply to traditional photographs and other artwork.
If prints are displayed, they should be enclosed in a mount and frame so the print is not in contact with the glazing, and is sealed from the surrounding environment.
They should not be hung in direct sunlight, e.g. not in a south facing window (northern hemisphere) , or directly opposite a sunny window.
Materials used in framing should preferably be of acid free or archival quality.
Prints stored in the dark and with controlled humidity and temperature may survive upwards of 100 years unaffected.
